Frequently Asked Questions

1.    How can I buy your work?

You can buy directly from one of the galleries that stock my work, or by contacting me direct. I try to keep my website up to date when a painting is at a particular gallery, but it’s usually best to check with me in case I have not had time to update the information. The price buying from me will be the same as the price in a gallery, unless I am having a studio sale.

2.    Are all the artworks on your website originals?

Yes - and each one is unique. Each piece comes with a signed certificate of authenticity, and the artwork itself is signed too.

3.   Are the colours exactly as they appear on my screen?

I've tried to make sure the colours in the photos are as close as possible to the original artwork, however your monitor may affect how the image looks on your screen. If you are in any doubt please request extra photos, or if you are in Wellington contact me to view it in person. Email me to arrange a good time.

4. Will my painting be ready to hang?
Yes, all paintings will come ready to hang. (with cord, wire, or wooden cleat) You just need to decide where!

5. Purchasing with a deposit
As the value of my work grows I understand spreading the cost can be a helpful option. Please contact me to arrange. You can hold the painting with a 50% deposit. The balance can be paid in one further payment or 2 monthly payments of 25% each. A deposit will secure your artwork and you will be required to pay the remaining balance. The painting will be shipped after final payment has been received.

This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.

6. My favourite painting has sold – how can I be sure to know about new work?
Some pieces sell very quickly. Make sure you join my mailing list to find out about new work before it is added to the website.
You can also follow studio progress on Instagram or Facebook to see work coming up.

7.   What currency are your prices in?

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZ$).
As a guide, the NZ$ is weaker than the Australian$, much weaker than the US$, and tons weaker than the British Pound and the Euro.

8.     How can I see an artwork before I buy it?

If you are in Wellington you’re welcome to visit my studio, or I can bring one or more to you to try out at home. Otherwise we can arrange an online meet up through FaceTime where I can tell you more about the artwork and show it to you. Please email amanda.wilkinson.art@gmail.com to arrange a date and time.

9.     What Payment Methods Do You Accept?

I accept the following payment methods, so you can pay from any country easily. If purchasing from overseas there will obviously be a variable currency conversion charge that your bank or card provider will charge you.:

  • PayPal

  • NZ Bank deposit

10.     GST (Goods and services tax)

GST is included in the price when applicable.

11.     Customs Charges

The buyer is responsible for paying international customs fees, determined by the country the artwork is being shipped to. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to making a purchase.

12. Can I collect my artwork from you?

Yes, email me and we can work out a time to meet. I am based in Khandallah, Wellington. Alternatively if you are in Wellington I can bring work to you.
